Apr 08, 2019 · I’m giving a workshop next week on how to build your own RISC-V CPU within a Lattice iCE40 series FPGA using the awesome Icestorm framework by Clifford Wolf.We need two toolchains here in order to create both the processor and the code to run on it, and we will build EVERYTHING here from source.

They’re small FPGAs, with up to 7680 gates, and they’re very low-power, which is nice for mobile applications. From what I can gather, Lattice acquired the designs when they bought a company called SiliconBlue in 2011.
